Grandma's Apple Crisp

Preparation

  • Preheat Oven to 350F
  • Bake Time: 1 Hour
  • Prep Time: 30 Minutes
  • Total time: 1.5 Hours
  • Serving: 8-12 Servings
  • 1 Large Glass Bowl
  • 9"x13" Baking Dish

Ingredients

  • 5 Pounds / 10-15 Apples
  • Cinnamon Powder
  • Nutmeg Powder
  • 2 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • [Topping]
    • 2 Cups Flour OR
      1 Cup Flour & 1 Cup Dried Oatmeal (recommended)
    • 2 Cups Granulated White Sugar
    • 1 Cup Butter

Instructions

  1. Peel all of your Apples
    • Peeled Apples
  2. Cut your Apples into bite-sized Chunks
    • Apple Chunks
  3. Add the following into the Glass Bowl
    • Diced Apples
    • 2sp. Lemon Juice
    • Nutmeg & Cinnamon (I always add extra cinnamon)
  4. Mix the ingredients together
  5. Pour your Apple Mixture into the Baking Dish
    • Apple Chunks
  6. Add the following into another Glass Bowl
    • Sugar
    • Butter
  7. Mix the Sugar & Butter so that it becomes loose chunks (similar to clumpy sand)
    • Sugar & Butter Mixed
  8. Add the Flour and Optional Oatmeal into the Mixture
    • Topping Mixture
  9. Spread the Topping of the Apples Evenly
    • Covered Apples with Topping
  10. Place in the Oven.
  11. Bake until the top is golden-brown and the mixture is bubbling
    • A Fully Baked Apple Crisp

  12. Let cool slightly before serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
