Favourite Episode: "Clockwise"

  Like with Ren & Stimpy, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters was not a show that I remember watching too much when I was younger. I remember seeing it on a few times, and recognize the main characters quite well - but would not have been able to tell you anything about the character's personalities or any plot to an episode. Being from the Klasky Csupo, the same studio behind Rugrats and Rocket Power, the art style is instantly recognizable to me.
  Perhaps it was the art style of Klasky Csupo, but I thought this show had a very charming quality. Although the world they live in is literally a dump, or rather under one, nothing is depicted in an overly-gross or disgusting manner (it is a kids show afterall), but I found this to help relate more to the monsters and their enjoyment of filth and fear of all things human. In addition to being frightened by the human world, One of the jokes that I really enjoyed in the series were how the monsters would describe something clean as disgusting, or anything putrid as attractive.
  When writing this review, I read that there was an episode of Rugrats where the monsters make a cameo in. I do not remember this from my watchthrough of Rugrats a few months ago, so had to go back and re-watch that episode. I may have missed some, but wish Aaahh!!! Real Monsters also would have made references to Rugrats as well. I did notice some background characters/humans were name Phil or Lil, so I am curious if that was just a coincidence. When considering a favourite episode for my first full watchthrough of the series, I could not stop thinking of the episode, "Clockwise". Ickis may be my favourite of the three main monsters students, and I am also always a fan of time travel/manipulation plots.
